Tom Morris

Tom's music production career started at age 14 recording local bands in his mum's front room using only a cassette 8 track and a small mixer. From this starting point he quickly secured assisting jobs in the only two studios in town and found himself playing guitar in a series of bands.

After cutting his teeth in these baby studios Tom moved to London, taking an assisting job at Fortress Studios in Old Street. He quickly moved from assisting to engineering and producing sessions once the studio manager realised he had natural flair with sounds and bands. Sessions included a variety of engineering roles with bands of the time such as The Killers, Pete Doherty, Wolfman, Basement Jaxx, Help She Can't Swim, The Go Team and Jet.

Keeping all of his musical interests afloat he joined the avant-pop band Clean George IV on guitar and keyboards, also becoming a key partner in the production and arrangement of the songs. Clean George IV won many fans in the media and public alike, but eventually expired due to the sheer number of projects each member had going on outside the band.

Tom then threw himself head first into production working with as many artists as possible and occasionally venturing off to engineer for other producers on long album projects. His production and engineering on The Boxer Rebellion album "Union" helped the band towards a place in the billboard top 100 and his work with cult rockers Gallon Drunk led to further albums with Lydia Lunch and Kraut-Rock legends Faust.

Short term projects with Artists such as Ice Sea Dead People and Japanese Voyeurs have developed into longer relationships leading to E.Ps, singles and albums. In fact when Japanese Voyeurs selected GGGarth Richardson to produce their forthcoming debut album, Tom made the journey to Vancouver with them to engineer the entire session.

Currently working with new band Zulu Winter, initial singles have led to Tom producing, recording and mixing their debut full length. Tom also runs a Studio in partnership with 4AD records in London. The majority of his projects are done here along with the development of new artists with 4AD. With a work ethic like Sun Studios or Electrical Audio, Tom is fast becoming the go to guy for unique and exciting record making.
