Eliot James

Writer / Producer / Engineer / Programmer / Mixer / Remixer

Eliot began playing guitar at 8 years old and by the time he was into his teens had already played in several bands as well as recording and programming tracks on a home set-up mixing traditional instruments with programmed beats, samples and noises.

Eliot headed for London after a studio apprenticeship in Manchester and began working on a variety of recording projects including programming for Jewels & Stone, recording live shows and composing music for commercials and film. A chance meeting with Paul Epworth programming on The Futureheads debut album cemented a hugely successful relationship over the next two years resulting in further recordings with Bloc Party, The White Rose Movement and The Rakes.

Now an established Producer in his own right, Eliot has risen to be one of the most in-demand Producers in the UK after completing records for Little Man Tate (V2), Vatican DC (Red Flag), The Fields (Atlantic) and Clocks (Island) – as well as remixing The Good Books (Columbia), The Fields (Atlantic), and Idlewild (Sanc/Universal). Currently in the studio Producing Noah and the Whale (Young & Lost/Universal), Eliot has recently finished Producing the debut for Does It Offend You, Yeah? (Virgin/EMI), bonus tracks for Bloc Party’s (V2/Universal) second album campaign, additional production and mix work for The Happy Mondays (Sanc/Universal) and Hadouken (Atlantic) as well as Producing bonus tracks for Kate Nash (Polydor/Fiction) too.
